Note: www.himedia.ca only provides support for the Himedia products purchased from our authorized resellers. All customers bought the product from overseas or direct importers, will have to contact the vendors directly. 
All firmwares listed in this page have been tested by himedia.ca support team. We still take the warranty for the products failed after the firmware upgrading, but only for the prducts purchased from our authorized resellers. Firmware upgrading Instruction

Note: Please rename the firmware file to be update.zip(if name is different) and save it to be root of USB drive. (Don't unzip the update.zip file)
Force Recovery Mode (user data will be cleared, don't need USB disk, will keep the same default firmware)
1. With the SMART TV BOX powered off, use a paper clip or pen point to press and hold the small pinhole reset button on the back of Android TV BOX (usually beside the power port), See Figure 1.

2.While pressing the reset button, power on the SMART TV BOX. Keep holding the reset button for 5 more seconds, release it when you see both the Android Robot icon and installing progress bar shows up (See Figure 2). (Don't release the reset button when the Himedia LOGO first comes out, see Figure 3)

3.The Android TV BOX will begin upgrading the firmware from the USB drive.

4. Wait for the Android TV BOX to complete the upgrade. Please be patient as it may take around 5 minutes to complete.

5. When finished, The Android TV BOX will automatically reboot.


Firmware Upgrade by Recovery Mode (user data will be cleared)

1.Download a new firmware and place the firmware onto the ROOT directory of a USB drive.

2. Plug the USB drive into an empty USB HOST on the Android TV BOX.

3.With the SMART TV BOX powered off, use a paper clip or pen point to press and hold the small pinhole reset button on the back of Android TV BOX (usually beside the power port), See Figure 1.

7. When finished, The Android TV BOX will automatically reboot.

Firmware Upgrade from Local Disk (user data will not be cleared)

1.Download a new firmware and place the firmware onto the ROOT directory of a USB drive.

2.Plug the USB drive into an empty USB HOST on the Android TV BOX.

3.Go to Settings→Upgrade→Local Upgrade (See Figure 4) to select/click the letter of the USB drive. (See Figure 5)

4.The Android TV BOX will begin upgrading the firmware from the USB drive.

5. Wait for the Android TV BOX to complete the upgrade. Please be patient as it may take around 5 minutes to complete.

6. When finished, The Android TV BOX will automatically reboot.

Firmware Upgrade Online/OTA (user data will not be cleared)
Himedia Q3/Q5/Q10 models with version 3.0.2 and above firmware will support OTA(Over-The-Air) upgrade. H8 model with version 1.0.7 and above firmware will support OTA(Over-The-Air) upgrade.

1.Power on the Android TV box.

2.Go to Settings→Upgrade to select/click the icon "Upgrade online" (See Figure 6)


3. It will display "Current is the latest version" if your firmware is up-to-date (Comparing the remote firmware loaded by manufacturer) or start to upgrade.

4. Wait for the Android TV BOX to complete the upgrade. Please be patient as it may take around 5 minutes to complete. When finished, The Android TV BOX will automatically reboot.

How to check the current firmware version

1.Power on the Android TV box.

2. Click Settings, scroll right to "About" for the firmware version (See Figure 7)
